Now you may be wondering if we put our kids to bed to sleep....we do. The picture with Hyrum he was in charge of putting those two boys to bed. The one with Elise and Henry....well Elise has been afraid of the dark since Hyrum showed her the movie "Ernest Scared Stupid". So she insisted on falling asleep in our sight with the lights on...Henry decided to cuddle up to her once she was asleep...he would never do that with her awake! :)

Well Parker was sure happy to be on a train!!! I thought Elise looked so calm and sweet in this picture as well.

Well it was 103 degrees!!!! Yes it is October!!! We ate a lot of ice cream and drank tons of water. We also filled Henry's cup holders with ice...best entertainment ever and it kept him cool!

The "Muppet Show". It was in 3D and Elise kept trying to grab the stuff and she kept saying,"I just can't get it". Way fun!

12 hour drive to Utah with the four kids! No DVD player. Parker took two naps one was five hours long!

So this morning we were all about to head out the door to the bus stop. Elise (always wanting to be first) darted out the door. Seconds later I heard a pack of dogs barking ferociously. I freaked out because I couldn't see Elise and thought the worst. Then I saw my neighbor on the corner through her fence calming her dogs. Then I saw Elise just chatting away to the neighbor...perfectly fine.....whew! I asked the neighbor what happened and she said she heard all the barking and thought there was a loose dog attacking hers and when she came out it was Elise barking at her dogs causing all of the commotion. She was laughing though and so did I once I knew everything was ok.

Claire's Jazz choir performance. She is on the bottom row second from the right. She went early three days a week to school to practice for the entire year. Claire worked really hard. That night the choir director passed out certificates to all the kids and did not do one for Claire. Claire was so upset after all her hard work.

Elise had a performance with all the second graders. "Goin Buggy" She was a bee. I took the picture through a window so it's not the best. When they first started practicing they made Elise a flower and she was soooo upset. Obviously something happened and she became a bee. One thing of note she knew everyone's part....I'm not kidding...every single line.

I had to run to the school to drop something off for Claire and I saw Elise in the hallway so I quickly said hello and without looking at me that was her response. Where's the love? :)

Elise found a picture in a Winnie the Pooh book of all the characters having a party with pink cake, pink lemonade and a white tablecloth. She was so excited to recreate the party and she made us "boogy/dance" before we ate the cake. It was hilarious! (That's my friend Kara and her baby Alice)

While my friend Kara was visiting she thought having a cheese tasting party would be fun. So we did and the kids had a blast!

Much to Hyrum's annoyance there were deer in our back yard. We got the kids up (it was early morning) so they could see. Then Hyrum chased them away because he was worried about his plants/garden. When Elise first got into the water she said it was really hot. Right before Hyrum "dunked"her she said,"oh no not yet!". When she came out she said really loudly,"Oh I forgot to bend my legs!". It was hilarious. It took me a bit to convince her to come out of the water she wanted to go swimming. Eventually she came out and I got her dried off. While she was confirmed she kept her eyes open and Parker was kind enough to tell her afterwards to remember to close her eyes. It was a perfect day for her and I was so glad.

The kids enjoying their Easter "buckets"! They all got a clue as to where they were. Elise was the only one who figured out the clue without help. We celebrated early because I am going to Utah during Easter (without kids) and I didn't want to miss anything.

Happy 8th Birthday Elise! Can't believe she is eight already. I remember when she was first born I was so shocked at how different she was from Claire. PALE! BALD! BLUE EYES! I stayed up the entire first night because I couldn't stop looking at her. I felt an instant special bond with her. She was the easiest baby by far of the four kids. I truly believe it was Heavenly Father's way of increasing my love for her and to make that bond so strong to help us during the years to come. She has a great sense of humor even when she is not trying...this girl is hilarious. Love you Elise!

Elise and I went to the Children's Theater in Portland. She was a doll. Every funny part in the play she would laugh like a crazy old grandma if you can picture that. It was hilarious! She clapped so hard every time it was necessary. She is so precious.

Oh yes! We've hit the terrible two's! It's so thrilling listening to my child screaming and damaging my eardrums beyond repair. A Day at the Pacific!

This is the one and only picture of Parker I took. That kid was running around like crazy. Rolling in the sand, playing with his tractors and getting wet. He had a blast. I didn't bring any spare clothes because I told the kids not to go in the water. Big MISTAKE! I had to stop and Fred Meyer and buy Parker something dry to wear for the rest of the day.

Henry running from the waves! Run! Run! He really liked getting close to the water. He played in the sand for a little bit but the water was more fascinating.

Claire a top driftwood! So cool. Elise and her were naming all the hills after the houses in the Harry Potter books.

Elise carrying all of her little animals with her. Good thing she didn't dump them out the container was dirty enough. She loved climbing the sand hills and chasing waves.

Well I just found out about this through my visiting teacher and I about died! So the girls piano teacher Sister Richardson shared a story of Elise to some sister's in my ward...I wasn't present. Aparently they were talking about how she always has treats for her piano students..which I know to be true because Elise is always talking about it. Well one particular day Elise was being served her treat and she said,

"When am I going to get a real meal around here?"

I called Sister Richardson and she just laughed and laughed.

So when Elise got home from school today I asked her about it and she said, "Well if I keep eating all that good sugar I am going to die!" I'm telling you she can't wait for her treat every week and writes in her journal about her piano lessons. Thank you Sister Richardson for having patience and love for my little girl.

This is the trail near our house and it's completely flooded. The Washougal river is so full from all of the rain. When I drove on 14 today it was cool seeing the river spill into the Columbia. Brown water mixed with the normal. Awesome!

Santa lives across the street from us during the year. Elise is a huge believer even more than a typical child, if you know Elise you know this to be true. Well Santa stopped by this evening bringing all the kids presents. Santa happen to bring Elise what she wanted most this Christmas...A PILLOW PET and a Littlest Petshop house! Well Elise was a bit excited to put it mildly. She ran upstairs and got all of her pet shop animals to show Santa. Santa enjoyed seeing how happy Elise was. Then Elise handed Santa a small handful of petshop animals and said, "Santa, these are Hattie's can you drop them off at her house while you are there tonight?" We all inwardly dying with laughter! So I stepped in and told Elise I would be happy to drop them off. THEN...Elise ran and got a small Christmas box that she had filled with some chocolate and taped a note to it, handed that to Santa and said, "Santa, PLEASE give this to Mrs. Claus it's for her!".

Now don't be jealous all...but Alesha spoiled me this Christmas. Look how amazingly crafty she is!!! I could have ten of the necklaces in every color and the trees were the best gift! They actually came on the perfect day...we had to rid ourselves of our tree and Alesha's package came the same day. The kids were so excited to see these trees...Elise said, "look Mom now we don't need another tree we got these!". Also I will be sporting some amazing cardigans courtesy of Alesha from "Kim's Fashions". I don't get new clothes very often and this was a real treat...don't get me wrong I still LOVE hand-me-downs! :) Thank you Alesha for making my day! Love ya!

Today at piano lessons. I came a bit early at the end to hear Elise with her teacher (Sister Richardson). She was doing pretty good and was asked to name the notes on the piano starting with "A". So Elise sang them one by one, "A, B, C, D, E, F, GEEEEEE!" The last note she sang with vibrato. It was so adorable I couldn't stop laughing quietly to myself. Her teacher explained how middle C divides what sides of the piano your right and left hand play. Then she asked Elise where middle C was...her response, "oh! oh! oh! I know right here!" It was as if she was saying "PICK ME!" even though she was the only student.
Driving home Parker was talking about death and when people die. He said I can't die until I'm old like a "GRANDPA"! One sweet thing though. He said he would miss me when I died. Kinda morbid but I was touched.

So I was taking my friend Kara and her baby back to the airport. Kara and I were both carrying bags and a carseat. Elise was put in charge of pushing Alice in the stroller. While we were heading to the check -in area Elise was pushing the stroller really fast and recklessly. So I told her to slow down and watch out so she won't hit anyone then she said......
"Don't worry I'll say excuse me first!"
Meaning she'll still hit them but make sure they get the warning. Oh we laughed so hard!

My biggest helper ever! She made dinner tonight (burritos) but hey its a start. Claire tries so hard to do her best. At such a young age she has gone through a lot. I believe she has good head on her shoulders and will be a good example to others. She loves fashion and trying out crazy hairdos.

She will share anything and everything she owns...even new gifts received she will give away if she sees it will make someone happy. This girl LOVES dinosaurs!!! Obsessed is more like it and I think it is so adorable that my little girl loves them. And she loves to collect rocks you can see in this picture of her that her pants pockets are bulging full of river rock.

Proof that Hyrum hates squirrels!

7 year old Elise drew this picture for Hyrum to hang up at work. Hyrum hates squirrels and blue jays because they eat all of his filbert nuts off the trees. So for the past few weeks he's been out there with his BB gun trying to kill the squirrels. Well he and the neighborhood cat "Jasper" took one down a few days ago. All the kids cheered when they saw the dead squirrel.

Those Jones genes run strong in this family. Every single one of my kids have loved to obsessively climb on the dining table. Usually when you just happen to stop by my house unannounced you will find all our dining chairs will be stacked on top of the table. Well here's Henry in his element!
